Getting Involved
Patient and Public Involvement within the NHS is a priority. Section 242 of the Health and Social Care Act 2006 (formerly Section 1 of the Health and Social Care Act 2001) places a duty on NHS organisations to involve and consult patients and the public:
- Not just when a major change is proposed, but in the ongoing planning of services
- Not just when considering a proposal but in developing that proposal, and
- In decisions that may affect the operation of services
NHS Stoke on Trent is keen to engage with patients, carers and local communities.
You can get involved in a number of ways:
- Stoke-on-Trent Community Health Voice
- Patient surveys and questionnaires
- Patient participation groups in GP surgeries
- Consultations
